China tech giants, Lenovo introduced OPhone cooperation with China Mobile. The handset is expected to rival the popularity of the iPhone rival service offered by China Unicom.
"We hope OPhone can take 50% of Smartphone market in
China within three to five years," said Huang Xiaoqing, president of the
Research Institute of China Mobile.
OPhone it will use the operating system developed by China
Mobile and will use the third generation of wireless technology platforms
TD-SCDMA.
Lv Yan, president of Lenovo Mobile said that every handset
made OPhone spent more than U.S. $ 200 but the retail price will vary depending
on the plan from China Mobile. "Mobile phones Ophone is China," he
said.
Lenovo hopes to start selling next month Ophone in the
world's largest mobile market with more than 700 million subscribers.
China Unicom last month announced a deal to sell the iPhone
multi year begins in the fourth quarter of 2009.
Unicom has 141 million subscribers, at the end of July,
expects to attract upper-class users with the iPhone, to be a reversal of
performance in competition with China Mobile which has 498 million subscribers
last July.
